Yes. You are right. Being disgusted is harsh sledgehammer language. Maybe "disappointed" is better. I still believe Clinton and Obama were very disappointing presidents. Maybe they did some good things that I am not giving enough weight to. Maybe I expected them to be able to do more good things than the system let them do.

You are right that I am not addressing this writing to people/family who are voting for Trump. To some extent I am the person from this rural class/family trying to understand you. I am not special, so I'm kind of putting this out there to see if there's other rural people who also are sick of this two-party system. I clearly harbor a lot of anger from my working-class, rural upbringing, and I really deeply dislike most of the rich "progressives" in my area--who say they vote progressive but always quietly and hypocritically enact and perpetuate policies that continue to solidify their moneyed advantage--but I am more willing than I used to be to believe that is not *all* progressives.
