You can in fact live anywhere you want and not care where others are living or if they are happy about their choices or yours.
The purpose of this article was mainly to share my surprise at how the number of households has grown in 50 years, and the pressure that is putting on our housing stock of any kind. A large number of people in the Boomer generation + them having a longer life expectancy seems to be part of making the housing market look different than it did 20 or 30 years ago. My question is not how to get Boomers (or anyone) out of houses they like. It is how to get other people into houses if that's what they want. I don't actually have any answers for how to do that but it feels like we have to discuss and try something new.
